• The bulk of the non-mutant population on the island, these poor unfortunates are a mix of surviving natives, misguided tourists, and loose ends. While some paid to be smuggled in for one reason or another, all are unable to leave due to the Condor blockade. Routinely harassed by mutants, storms, and some of the more aggressive groups on the island, a day’s survival is a herculean achievement for a Civilian. They are based out of a small shanty town built around the far side of the Lubjansk port. Civilians can often be found in the company of their local Ironbound Craft Masters, working together to acquire the parts needed for both to live another day.

  • The Condor Corporation is a vast multi conglomerate making everything from precision guided rockets to consumer products. Their subsidiaries exist in nearly every industry across the globe. As a large US defense contractor, they maintain their own PMC force under the banner of Condor Securities. The company has a reputation for brutal and efficient work in some of the most difficult environments on the planet, and those are just the ones that are known about publicly. Contracted by the Russian Government to provide security as part of their cordon of the island, Condor currently holds the Lubjansk port as their primary base of operations.

  • While most of the local population fell during the first storm, some of the hardier folk managed to make it past the first few days. Such a feat required valuable skills in survival and creation of tools to continue. The Ironbound are skilled crafters, mechanics, and artisans, remnants of the island’s former industries and artists. Unable to escape due to the Condor blockade, the Ironbound work to provide themselves and the Civilian populace with the means to defend themselves, and push back the ever advancing tide of hostile mutants. While they do not involve themselves in the ever growing struggles for control of the island, they ultimately wish to see it restored to its former peace and serenity.

  • The Kazik are a chapter of the broader Russian Bratva. They have used Namalsk as a hideout for their most wanted for many years, owning many of the mainland’s ports through their influence and connections. In the criminal underworld, the Kazik count the island among their sovereign territory, extorting local businesses to keep their members supplied with cash while on the run. While they may seem like common thugs, they are more structured than your typical gang. Concepts of honor and respect are sacred, and their hierarchy builds on equal parts strength and business acumen. The lack of any real authority on the island since the disaster has allowed them to flourish. They specialize in holding key travel routes, harassing individual travelers and caravans for a piece of their pockets. This ‘tax’ ensures the safe passage of their prey, and establishes a basis of commerce that fuels their violent goals of taking a larger piece of Namalsk for themselves. It's rumored their leader has larger plans, including selling off the island’s most dangerous creatures and research to the highest bidder. The Dam north of the Sebjan Valley has become their home as the primary chokepoint to traveling to the southern reaches of the island.

  • The International Scientific Investigations Group (ISIG) is a paramilitary research organization made up of a subset of NATO countries. Its mandate is to investigate ecological dangers in regions that are typically war torn or suffering from dramatic civil unrest. They are commonly found operating in regions rife with genocidal warlords, infrastructure shattering earthquakes, and terrorist groups that change allegiance at the drop of a hat. The initial emission storm, leaked documents, and rumors attracted enough attention to send the group to Namalsk over strenuous Russian objection. For this mission, ISIG's 'Kepler' Division, consisting of it's most gifted scientists was deployed with a complement of troops from it's charter countries to ensure their success. Early encounters with the anomalies and mutants on the island depleted much of the original guards, but anyone considering the remaining personnel easy prey may find themselves outdone by the cunning of these forces. Originally deployed to a set of warehouses north of Athena, the location's indefensible terrain led them to their new home outside of {REDACTED}.

  • Final Day is a secretive and dangerous organization made up of scientists and military from the original experimentation projects on the island. While originally on board with the government’s agenda, the reckless pursuit of artifacts and lack of proper safety protocol gave many of them pause. After a failed attempt to stop the experiments just prior to the disaster, many were taken prisoner by their former comrades. The losses the military suffered during the first emission storm created enough chaos for them to escape and regroup. They are some of the only survivors on the island from before the disaster, and as such have spent a considerable amount of time mapping the terrain both above and below ground. They are well equipped and disciplined, operating from the shadows and attacking from tactically superior positions with experimental gear developed in the labs. It is unknown if they maintain a single garrison or simply inhabit the derelict facilities that lay beneath the island, but they can always be found where you least expect them.

  • Just as some act as wardens to keep prying eyes from the work that was being done on the island, there are some, who wish to spread it to the world. The Disciples are a group of zealous and stalwart believers, who in the depths of the labs have found what they consider to be an ultimate truth. Divine providence dictates that they must bring all into the fold, first those on the island, and then beyond. Any who seek to challenge them may find that there is more to their power than mere words…
