• --Proper initiation is a must in all conflicts. A proper initiation has:
    – – Explicit verbal demands and/or instructions.
    – – Explicit verbal consequences if the demand or instruction is not met.
    – – A suitable period of time for the party being aggressed on to respond.
When initiating you should be initiating and responding reasonably based on the situation you are in, taking into account the factors of forces and positions, valuing your survival as the ultimate outcome.

  • The only exceptions to this rule are the below faction exceptions and the annotations in [9.0 - Wartime].
--Renegades and Final Day may initiate regardless of the danger to their lives.

  • --Killing on Sight is prohibited in most areas for most players. The exceptions are as follows:
--Final Day has KoS rights at all times, you may in turn KoS Final Day.
--Founders City (Vorkuta) is a designated KoS zone where initiation is not required by anyone.

  • --All communication must be done in an IC manner. When using the radio channels, you must be carrying a radio with a battery in game. During any active IC interaction you must double-mic, meaning you must be speaking in both Discord and in-game voice. If you are killed you must deafen until you have respawned and acquired a new radio. You are not required to double-mic when no active RP is taking place, ex: sitting around the base with your faction discussing something OOC.

  • --Players may only speak in the Discord PDA channels while they are logged in and conscious on the server. This is to ensure people are not engaging in poor behavior and hiding behind the fact that they are not logged in. Anyone found to be abusing / login cycling to avoid consequence of their actions in PDA will be penalized by Staff.

  • --After being killed you may continue as the same character, but you will have no memory of events in the 30 minutes leading up to your death. You may not return to your body under any circumstances. You may not rejoin a hostile situation that resulted in your death.

  • --If you are initiated on or find yourself in a hostile interaction you must make a good faith effort to value your life. In circumstances where you are outnumbered significantly, you should comply with requests made by the larger force due to the overwhelming odds. Further, your character's overall decision making should be consistent with a level of value assigned to their continued survival.

  • --You cannot order another person, even under threat of force, to take actions that would result in their death. Similarly, constantly threatening the lives of others in a cavalier manner without adequate RP reasoning is also prohibited. You may not command someone to provide a passcode or to open a locked door or container.

  • --Renegades and Final Day do not have to value their lives in any threatening situations, this includes initiation, being initiated on, or retreating under fire. Condor do not have to value their lives when executing a signed contract as long as they are acting within the parameters of the signed contract. The actions of all groups should still make reasonable sense in the given circumstance based on their perspective.

  • --Each Faction may only be allied with one other Faction at a time. If you observe an Ally in a non-war hostile interaction or as a captive, you are able to initiate separately to intervene. Alliances are a strong commitment between factions and must have adequate IC investment from both parties.

  • --When switching factions you will become a Prospect of your new faction regardless of your previous Faction/Rank. You will stay as a Prospect for a period of at least 2 weeks as you learn how to operate as a part of your new Faction. If your previous Faction is able to capture you during this period they have the option to PK you. Once this period is over, that option expires. If you are inactive during this period, the timer will reset back to 2 weeks.

  • --IC recruits will go through a 2 week period of Prospecting in all cases for all Factions. The only exception to this is the first IC recruit which may be a 1 week Prospect period to help the server in its initial growth and expansion. IC recruitment should make sense in-world and Prospects should be tested or put through tasks that show their fitness for that faction.

  • --Raids may take place between factions even outside of a War scenario. In these cases, the raiding Faction must file a ticket with appropriate RP reasoning to constitute the raid. Once this is approved the Faction being raided is notified and given 45 minutes to prepare. If the raid ticket is approved, you must notify the opposing faction in-character that this action is being taken. Administrators will spawn in raid items and oversee the raid in its entirety. Once the raid is complete, in that all rooms except the Trader Room have been cleared, the Administrator will reward the victorious Faction with items from the raided Faction’s loot box. Raids have a one week cooldown.

  • --In order to declare war on another Faction you must have 3 valid RP reasons for the war declaration. These may include: -Base Raids, -Missing Patrols, ect. A ticket must be made for the war declaration, which must then receive the approval of 2 Administrators. Once approved, the initiating faction has 24 hours to declare the war publicly. Once declared, both factions may KoS each other. Any KoS committed against another faction, even if by mistake, will be severely punished. Wars will last a period of one week or until one side surrenders. Leaders are the only permitted PK targets and may be killed in order to end a war early. A Leader who is PKd in this fashion is allowed to make a new character to start at the bottom of their faction. If you are Allied to a faction that is committed to a war, you gain KoS rights on the opposing force when accompanying them.

  • --Wartime raids do not require prior notice, although a ticket must still be filed, and will only receive approval if members of the Faction being raided are online at the time of filing.

  • W A C K.

  • --This server is made with the goal of enjoyment for all parties. The ultimate goal should always be quality RP in all situations. To that end, it is expected that you will not engage in speech or behaviors that would harm that goal or the experience of your fellow players. At the end of the day, OOC, we should all be friends.

  • --Hostages may be taken from an encounter, but only one at a time. Once the hostage has been taken their teammates must value their life and make reasonable attempts to secure their safe return. The aggressors may use their hostage to demand the hostage’s faction exits their base for negotiation, although they may refuse this demand. If during negotiations it is felt that the demands of those holding the hostage cannot be met, it must be clearly communicated before attempting any rescue. Hostages may not be killed until a reasonable attempt at negotiation has been made. If negotiations are unsuccessful the hostage may be released, held for 24 hours, executed, or converted to the faction they were taken hostage by.

  • --Safe Zones are Zones where no hostility or initiation is allowed in any fashion for any reason. Safe Zones may not be camped in a radius of 100 meters. If someone runs into that radius while under an active KoS/valid initiation, it does not invalidate the initiation. The only current Safe Zone is the Slum Village.

  • --Any actions which would constitute Fail RP or NVL within the safezone, either in being overtly disrespectful or threatening of someone to the point of NVL, or Fail RPing in such a way as to not be consistent with the world, invalidates the protection of the Safezone. If this is triggered you may be executed without initiation, but must be warned at least once by the executing party verbally. In the event someone is executed under this provision and a ticket results, video evidence must be provided or both parties will be punished. If the offense is severe enough, you may receive a PK at staff discretion.

  • --All Factions must wear their assigned Armbands and Clothing at all times unless otherwise specified by Staff. In this way we preserve the ability to identify and quantify numbers at any given time.

  • --Any claims for compensation must include proper documentation such as video evidence or a valid witness. Please make sure you can provide adequate evidence before filing a claim for compensation.

  • --Currently, there are no group limits. If this is abused this rule will be amended. Please be responsible and use your best judgment. If in doubt, consult rule [12.0].

  • --Civilians wishing to organize may file a ticket to apply to be a Recognized Group. Recognized Groups should have an active base of members with common ideals, goals, and cooperation. Staff may decide to convert a Recognized Group into a full Faction if their activity, numbers, and quality of roleplay dictate such a conversion.

  • --Civilian Groups can be destroyed as a War Target for factions or other Groups.
--Civilian Groups cannot ally with factions but may ally with each other.

  • --Channels within the main and Faction discords will be considered OOC unless specifically designated IC. Any information obtained from an OOC source cannot be used or given to anyone else in an IC manner. Using any outside information, including from streams, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate action.

  • --IC Discord DMs are permitted if conducted in an IC manner, but we ask that this be as limited as possible to enable better handling of information for Staff and the community at large.

  • --Please do not watch streams of players on-server while being logged in. This will make accusations regarding sniping or meta much more cut-and-dry. In the event you are found in a stream lobby, even if you are not interacting with that streamer, you will be punished accordingly. Just don’t do it.

  • --Base perimeters are clearly marked and cordoned with locked doors. Using any game mechanic to access these restricted areas is prohibited and will result in strict punishments. Please report any exploit like this to staff in a ticket immediately.

  • --No one may be compelled ICly to open a locked door or container. Instead of demanding access to a door or container, negotiation or hostilities must be used instead, as long as you are not in a Safezone.

  • --Your Discord display name in any Final Day official Discord must match your in-game Character name in DayZ to allow for easy identification and rule enforcement. We do not currently require a [Tag] to indicate faction status, but you may use one if you wish.

  • --Armor Stacking, or the practice of putting on two pieces of armor or armored clothing is strictly prohibited for all players at all times. This includes Exo Suits. If you are not sure, please file a ticket.

  • --While many situations in game may prove frustrating, it is the goal of Final Day Staff to provide as fair of an experience as possible. Extreme public displays of frustration can give improper and incomplete impressions to both current and potential players of the server. To this end, we ask that all players refrain from engaging in raging, or ‘malding’, in public channels and public forums until giving Staff the opportunity to assist them. If you believe a situation was unfair, or that a rulebreak occurred, it is your obligation to bring this to Final Day Staff and give them the opportunity to address it first. You are still free to discuss both the situation and the response by Staff publicly once the ticket or conversation has concluded. Misrepresenting of a situation, or of Staff’s statements, will result in them being backed up with logs and ticket transcripts. Honesty and transparency should be the goal of all parties involved, and any attempts to slander, misrepresent, or obfuscate will result in punishment.

  • --Final Day Staff make a good faith effort to be as transparent about our processes as is practical. To this end, we disclose many pieces of information regarding our development efforts, decision making processes, and focuses as possible. There are times where sharing certain information is not practical, or can cause more issues in being disclosed than not.

In the event of a rulebreak, punishments are not public-facing information, but Staff can be queried as to what factors were considered. Staff will also consult with both parties before making decisions to ensure it appropriately accommodates both sides. While we cannot always make everyone happy, it is our goal to provide a satisfactory level of enforcement to as much of our community as possible. Please feel free to file an Administration Ticket if you feel an issue requires escalation or further attention.

The end goal of any and all punishments given by Staff is Corrective Action.
Corrective Actions are designed to make players understand where they have fallen short, and continue to play in a more acceptable way.

  • --Any Player may request a Log Review take place for any hostile engagement where it is believed any system or mechanic of the server did not operate properly. Staff will consult the available logs and provide as much information as is practical. Please note not all information is logged at all times, but we will give as complete of a picture as we are able. In the event something did perform improperly, Staff will try to give reasonable compensation and make appropriate fixes to the affected area.
